As I walked our dogs past the cottages on Saturday morning I was surprised to see a group of super bouncy smiley people working out on the lawn outside the cottages. I often walk up to say hello to our guests on a Saturday morning and am normally met by sleepy smiles and the smell of bacon so I was a little surprised.

This amazing group of fitness lovers had come to the cottages on a fitness retreat, they were using our site to hold classes, go for hikes and to spend time together as a group. It was so lovely to see the cottages and grounds being used for something other than a holiday and it made me think that perhaps I should look to get other groups of friends, colleagues and clubs together.

The cottages are just perfect for a retreat of this kind as they are completely removed from day to day life allowing guests to focus on their chosen activity, be it fitness, art or yoga. The surroundings are so peaceful and secluded there is no danger of disturbing or of being disturbed by anyone else.

The large dining space in Rose Cottage makes for a perfect group spot for refuelling and getting to know one another. It is always so lovely to see it being used in this way.
Thank you so much to Lou and her group for opening my eyes to the possibility of more clubs and groups using the cottages - as Lou said in her feedback '19 of us stayed, great facilities, comfy beds and everything we needed for a great weekend. The surrounding area is beautiful and has many walks available which we took advantage of.'

Thanks so much for coming, for giving me inspiration and for truly making the most of our wonderful surroundings!
