Dog Friendly cottages

We are very happy to welcome dogs to Newfield Holiday Cottages. We provide poo bags, dog treats and a water bowl in each cottage.

Set within 2,000 acres of beautiful rolling arable farmland our cottages are perfect for those with energetic dogs who love to run. We are not strict about where you walk but we would ask that during the shooting season (August to March) you bear in mind that we do have a commercial shoot on the farm and therefore if there are pheasants around you keep your dogs on leads.

One of our favourite outings with our dogs is to the beach and luckily many of the local Dorset beaches are dog friendly. Both Poole and Bournemouth allow dogs along the promenade all year (with lead restrictions at peak times).

The beautiful National Trust beach, Studland Bay allows dogs between 30th September and 1st May. With endless sandy beaches, plenty of great coffee stops and the wonderful Pig on the Beach restaurant this is a great way to wear your dog out and see some of Dorset’s most wonderful scenery.

In addition to this Ringstead Bay, Chesil Beach and Durdle Door are all wonderful dog walking spots and are dog friendly all year around.

“'Hi Anna  - just to thank you so much for our fantastic weekend in your cottages.  We had a great time – the accommodation contained all of us + the dogs; the food on our first night was delicious; our second night which was the celebration for John’s 70th went so well with a table that could fit 20 of us and then the sitting room area where we could hold our ‘performances’ and quiz for him – many lovely memories. I love that part of Dorset – I was brought up in Salisbury with grandparents in Bournemouth and aunt, uncle, cousins in Southampton, so it all felt very familiar. We would love to come back one day – everyone thought it was great.  I’ll put something on TripAdviser. Good to meet you albeit briefly.  Hope we left everything in good order. Best wishes Ro and family'”

“An absolutely fantastic holiday property. The perfect size and layout for 18 people.   Highly recommend having an evening meal made for you by Anna. Plenty enough to go around and to a high standard. Made life so much easier!!   Everyone enjoyed their time. This place is definitely one to stay at”

“Lovely cottages, we had a brilliant holiday. You could easily have 20 adults and have plenty of space inside and out. The local pub, The Anvil was a 40 minute stroll, you could go cross country or road, decent food and the staff very proactive with Covid precautions. Cottages all clean on arrival, with Covid paperwork. Felt clean, safe and welcoming. This property is rural and on a working farm which was lovely and well kept. Lots to do locally, cider farm, brewery in Blandford, National Trust properties and lots more - really good location. I would recommend this property and hope to return. ”
